In an email that went out to the ESP Participation Working Group participants, Alex Hellquist stated "I got the feeling in Portland that many institutions working with ES (including ourselves) are struggling to get the concept through to stakeholders. This is a bit ironic given that it emerged partly to make the values of nature easier to communicate to decision makers and economists." I definitely agree with Alex. One question is whether the term "ecosystem services" itself is part of the problem.
