Social Coast Forum 2012

The NOAA sponsored Social Coast Forum slates itself as an "opportunity to hear from both coastal managers and social scientists and discuss ways to integrate social science into coastal decision-making."

The MESP's own director, Linwood Pendleton, will be presenting a talk titled "ISSUES IN NEED OF A SOCIAL SCIENCE SOLUTION: Ecosystem Services as Management Principle: What the Heck Does That Mean?" at noon on February 15th. The premise of the talk notes that: "Many of the coastal agencies are struggling to make ecosystem services a management principle. With so many directions we could go in, how can NOAA identify a manageable set of steps, goals, and concepts to get started?"

Let us know if you plan on attending the Social Coast Forum this year. We'd love to hear from you!
